Speed Assessment

FVS can provide accurate calculations of vehicle speed from video footage.

FVS can accurately determine the speed of a vehicle by analysing CCTV imagery and taking precise ground measurements.

In order to do this, we calculate the distance travelled by the vehicle using a combination of plotting landmarks on aerial footage, use of scale, and taking our own measurements of vital evidence left by vehicles at the crash site — such as point of impact, final resting positions, skid marks, scrub marks, and gouge marks.

From this, a computer-generated scale diagram can be produced, which may be used to reconstruct the accident.

In addition, we can also calculate the time a vehicle takes to travel a distance by using the CCTV frame-rate and time-stamp.
